After researching EV conversions that have been accomplished, there stands out two basic methods of conversion. That of adapting an existing electric power train from a repurposed or wrecked EV or building a power train system from off-the-shelf parts and open source type controllers.

Before any conversion begins, the initial requirements of the EV system need to be declared.

• Precise control of speed between 0 to 5 mph, no lurching, with ample torque under loads of 1200 lbs.
• Maximum of 20 miles capacity between charges with an ability to charge twice daily.
• Maximum speed of 30 mph.
